Women
Women Who Train at JJF
Hear from women who train at JJF.
Jiu jitsu was built so a smaller person can control a bigger one. That’s why so many women love it, and why they stay.
Women train alongside everyone else at JJF, in the same classes, learning the same techniques. Our kids classes run close to half girls, and our adult classes have women at different belt levels.
Women on the mat
JJF was co-founded by Gabi Francis, a 4th degree black belt, and women have been part of this academy from day one. Our coaches meet every new student where they are, and our training partners look out for each other.
What you get
- Real self-defense you can use
- Confidence that carries off the mat
- A full-body workout without counting reps
- Training partners who look out for you
- A community that feels like family
How training works
Every new student starts with a free intro class. From there, you’ll join our Fundamentals classes, built for beginners and running every week. As you grow, you move into Intermediate and Advanced classes, and your coach will tell you when you’re ready. A few times a year we also run an 8-week BJJ Foundations course, where a group of beginners starts together and finishes together.
